Festival of Trees has an attraction for the
entire family! Guests can enjoy browsing the beautiful
holiday displays designed by talented local designers, shopping
for a present in our Tinsel
Treasures Gift Shop, watching performances by local dance groups
on CenterStage, listening
to a story by the Book Tree, visiting Santa in the North Pole
children's activity center, or stopping
by the TreatShoppe to have a tasty chocolate treat. Please

2013 Attractions
Art Exhibit
This display showcases the artistic talents of Quad City high
school students. It is one of best viewed attractions,
showing
how much the community appreciates the creativity of talented
youth. All mediums, two and three-dimensional,
from painting to
pottery are featured in this attraction. Awards are given to
students whose work best reflects the
qualifications for each
judging category. You won't want to miss this display!
Book Tree
The Book Tree, located in the North Pole Children's
Activity Center, is an oversized 20 ft tall tree filled with
books.
Throughout the ten days of Festival children gather
around this enormous tree to listen to scheduled story tellers
&
readers. Every book that fills the tree is generously donated.
Once Festival ends, the books are distributed to
needy children
in the Quad Cities.
Celebrity Baskets
Area celebrities garnish and fill to the brim holiday baskets
based on a unique theme centered on their
notoriety, their
hobby, or some Festival feature. Local dignitaries, specialty
shops owners, and radio and
television personalities are some of
the individuals who design these treasured items. These
delightful
baskets will be filled with many wonderful treasures.
Simply buy a $1 raffle ticket from any of the sellers
on the
floor for a chance to own any of these personality plus baskets!
CenterStage
CenterStage is a favorite Festival attraction that showcases a
variety of delightful local talent during general
admission
hours. Dancers, singers, bands, and choirs fill the Great Hall
with wonderful holiday entertainment
to add to the holiday magic
and cheer at Festival. More than 3,200 individuals of all ages
entertain the Festival
audiences each year.
Children's & Teen Trees
Children’s and Teen Trees are a
delightful attraction and feature 4 ft holiday trees designed by
elementary,
middle school and high school students.
These stroll-through exhibits give young creative minds an
opportunity to celebrate the arts by
participating in Festival of Trees.
Designer Displays
As the heart of the event, these spectacular designs showcase
original creations by our area's most talented professional
and
non-professional designers. Each year, thousands of individuals
gather to peruse the Trees, Doors, Holiday Entries,
Hearth &
Home and Rooms designs. Don't miss out on your chance to view or
purchase the designs!
Festival Express
Every year the local Engineers at
KJWW Engineering work year round creating a fantastic
display
called Festival Express to help support Festival
of Trees. Children delight in winding their way through
the
Austrian village surrounded by mountains, stars illuminated with
fiber optics, suspended snowflakes,
and Christmas spirit. All
ages enjoy the whistles sounding and the lights sparkling as the
engines carry
the train lover off into a world of enchantment. A
$1 ticket will buy a child an opportunity to become an
Engineer
as they navigate their locomotive across the tracks and through
the mountains. All aboard!

Gingerbread Village
A Festival all-time favorite, the Gingerbread Village simply
gets sweeter every year. Gingerbread creations
by amateur,
professional, youth, and senior bakers will be assembled into an
incredible edible village that
will tempt all your senses.
Limited only by the creator’s imagination, you won’t want to
miss a single frosted
delight. Each of the deliciously
interesting designs will be available for viewing and purchasing
– the perfect
way to decorate your holiday home with something
that is so sweet!
Honor Trees
Dedicated to loved ones, Honor Trees
offer a beautiful way to remember or honor someone during the
holiday season
- birthdays, anniversaries, soldiers serving our
country, honor roll members, as well
as those dearly departed are but a few of the
ways friends and family may be honored on these freshly
decorated trees. A fitting tribute to the very
special people in our lives! Adorning brilliantly lit trees in
a peaceful
forest setting, lovely personalized ornaments
will celebrate the lives or accomplishments of our loved ones.
The
ornaments will be displayed throughout Festival
and will be mailed to buyers before December 25. Take a few
minutes and rest on the benches provided among
these trees, and reflect on the true meaning of the holiday.
Holiday Parade
Every year thousands of attendees flock to the
streets of downtown Davenport to watch the annual Festival of
Trees
Holiday Parade. The parade is a Quad City tradition and is
Quad City Arts Festival of Trees gift to the community. There
are over 20 large helium balloons, pageant queens, dance groups,
bands, clowns, floats, tractors and unique antique
cars that
participate in this spectacular event.
North Pole Children's Activity Center
Come visit Santa at the North Pole! Santa's
Arctic home features activities for all ages. stop by
and enjoy decorating cookies in Mrs.
Claus's Kitchen, play golf in Prancer's Putt Putt, snuggle up
in a bean bag chair to listen to story
tellers at the Book tree, win prizes at the Snow Bowl, and don't
forget to visit the jolly guy himself in
Santa's Workshop!
Santa's Throne
Located in the heart of the North Pole Children's
Activity Center, Santa sits on his throne waiting for good
little
boys and girls to tell him their holiday
wishes. The North Pole is open during General Admission hours.
However, Santa is available on his throne
for visiting with children and sets his own hours. A
photographer
is available on site to capture this
special moment with photographs available for purchase.
Talking
Tree
This amazing magical evergreen will likely
welcome you as you enter the Great Hall. Sporting "granny"
glasses and a Santa hat, the surprising
Talking Tree will give you directions, tell stories, and maybe
even recite a poem or pass along a holiday
joke. Mr./Mrs. Tree will even notice if your wearing a special
outfit. Listen in at various times and you
will discover this jolly old tree has many different voices, but
it
will always have a cheery word for
visitors. Kids, especially, will be awestruck when they ask the
Tree a
question and it answers while rolling its
eyes.
Toy Tree
Standing
at over 20-feet-tall, the Toy Tree
is a new Festival favorite! Festival of Trees
will be taking new toy donations to fill the giant tree, which
will still be located
in the atrium of the RiverCenter South building to greet guests
as they visit Festival. All toys will be delivered to Toys for
Tots at the end of Festival.
TreatShoppe
Satisfy your sweet-tooth At the TreatShoppe,
located just inside the Great Hall. The TreatShoppe carries
assorted sweet and salty treats including
brownies, old fashioned hard candies, brownies, homemade
rice crispy treats and fudge and popcorn.
We didn't forget about the ice cream! TreatShoppe also carries
the Quad Cities favorite Whitey's Ice Cream
in assorted flavors and the popcorn is always fresh. Stop on
by and satisfy your sweet-tooth.
